Global Production Engineering
The international master programme Global Production Engineering (GPE) has been offered at Technische Universität Berlin since 1998 and is a full-time study programme with a duration of four semesters. At the end of the program the degree Master of Science is awarded.
The aim of the programme is to train excellent, international
students to become problem-solving, globally thinking technology
managers with knowledge for the sustainability challenges of the 21st
century. Due to the modularity of the programme, students can
independently enrich their qualification portfolio in the areas of
production, management, engineering and intercultural communication. A
special characteristic of the study program is its internationality,
95 percent of the students come from abroad, 43 different nations have
been enrolled in the program since its inception. Teaching staff have
extensive international professional experience and some of them have
a different cultural background. The courses at GPE are offered
exclusively in English.
Since 2006, the study programme has
been accredited for 8 years by the ASIIN (Fachakkreditierungsagentur
für Studiengänge der Ingenieurwissenschaften, der Informatik,
Naturwissenschaften und der Mathematik). The accreditation confirms
the high standards set by the GPE study program.
Over the
last 20 years, a global alumni network has developed in which alumni
keep in touch with each other, support each other and exchange the
latest information. Today, GPE graduates work on challenging projects
such as the Shanghai subway, the production of German automobiles or
the establishment of sustainable production in the Amazon
rainforest.
