Global Production Engineering Digital

The GPE-D (Global Production Engineering Digital) project serves to develop and establish a digital study program of the same name for the postgraduate master's program in GPE at the Technische Universität Berlin. During this process, digital teaching and learning concepts will be developed in close cooperation with the lecturers, which will form the basis for a guideline on the digitization of production technology and management teaching content. GPE-D is funded as part of the funding program "Internationale Programme Digital (IP Digital)" of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

Circular Economy Initiative Deutschland

The Acatech Initiative for a Circular Economy pursues the vision of transferring Germany from a resource-intensive to a net-positive economy with international exemplary character. To do so, representatives from politics, business, science and civil society are working on indicators and economic potential as the basis of a development roadmap to increase the circulation of industrially used materials. The Department of Sustainable Corporate Development is represented both in the steering committee as well as in a working group of the project, which runs until 2021.

BRAGECRIM (Brazilian-German
collaborative research initiative
on Smart Connected Manufacturing)
is an international research
cooperation between brazilian
and German research institutes,
which are funded by the DFG and CAPES.

In this project, the department develops together with partners from the University of São Paulo and the University Federal de São Carlos "Learnstruments for ensuring the transition of Brazilian and German manufacturing companies to Industry 4.0".

Circular Crowd Production Platform

The project Circular Crowed Production (CCPP) aims to develop a digital platform for the production of sustainable building components. The traceability of material and information flows has shown strong advantages in supply chains of other industries in terms of profitability and other sustainability aspects. Nevertheless, there is a lack of supply chain management systems for the construction industry that address the urgent need for new housing while at the same time being designed to promote circularity and the use of low-emission materials. Highly insulating PUR sandwich panels, which are frequently used in the construction industry, provide an example of the application.

The central actors within and outside the education system, who have the critical competence to ensure that resource education is firmly established in the various educational sectors (school education; vocational training; higher education; further education) and, beyond that, in politics, business, the social partners and civil society, are still poorly networked. The discussion on resource education has accordingly been conducted in a segmented manner - if at all - only in individual (sub)areas of the educational landscape, but not in a nationwide dialogue among the relevant stakeholders. Against this background, a central goal of the BilRess project is to establish a nationwide network. The aim is also to establish the network and institutionalise it permanently.
